This robotic installation with responsive projection is as much an apparatus of art as it is a tool for music and an instrument of psychology and physics. Tautophone is a reference to the projective “auditory Rorschach” tests developed by psychologists Skinner, Rosenzweig, and Shakow in the 1930s and 1940s, while Curious here refers to the robot's motivation to explore its surroundings and to learn.
It is our pleasure to announce that for Vašulka Kitchen Brno 2025 residency program we selected media artist Cailean Finn.
The decision was certainly not easy and we thank everyone else for their interest and the many excellent projects!
Vasulka Kitchen Brno is presenting two video presentations and one long-term project Sonic Wilderness focused on sound features, coordinated by The Visiting Artist’s Studio (FaVU VUT, Antye Gryeie-Ripatti). In the videos, we are firstly introducing new educational worksheet for both children and adults, that were made in cooperation with Brno Art Hous, secondly we are leafing through Vasulka Kitchen Cooking Reader #1 (ed. Milos Vojtechovsky).
Vašulka Kitchen Brno nabídne listování nově vydanou knihou Vašulkova kuchyňská kniha (ed. Miloš Vojtěchovský) o uchovávání a vystavování uměleckých děl mediální povahy a edukačními pracovními listy, které vytvořila ve spolupráci s Domem umění. V průběhu celého týdne bude společně s Ateliérem hostující pedagožky na FaVU (Antye Gryeie-Ripatti) prezentovat projekt Sonic Wilderness, zkoumající povahu zvuku, jeho partitur a stop ve společnosti.
