The world around us is a mixture of ubiquitous images and sounds that we must try to understand, decipher and, most importantly, learn to create with them ourselves.
Vasulka Kitchen programs allow participants to explore and transcend the boundaries of art and technology, just as Stein and Woody Vasulka - pioneers of electronic art - did in their work. We offer four ongoing programs of varying difficulty and creative workshops for a wide range of interests based on the themes of current exhibitions in the gallery space.
For more information about all programs for families, adults or schools and kindergartens, please see the individual sections or contact the lecturer Gajane Achverdjan with your questions via e-mail: gajane@vasulkakitchen.org
For families and kids
The workshops offered for families and children explore certain phenomena and approaches in new media art, as well as respond to current trends in the world of film, music or social media. The workshops at Vasulka Kitchen offer a creative and experimental approach to making and often focus on working in groups. We invite all young experimenters, filmmakers, sound engineers or audio-visual curious kids (and their parents and grandparents) to join us for collaborative art activities that develop children's imagination, creativity and their relationship with art and technology.

For kindergartens, schools
Vašulka Kitchen offers educational programmes for all levels of education (kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and universities) always on the occasion of the current exhibition and also offers four permanent programmes that are not directly linked to exhibitions, but instead deal with different phenomena and approaches in the field of electronic art and new media art. All programmes for kindergartens and schools are linked to the Framework Educational Programmes (FEP) of the respective levels of education.

For adults
Workshops focus on different artistic approaches in new media art or the skills required to test the boundaries of today's (and yesterday's) technologies. However, they often target analogue approaches that juxtapose the art of digital. The adult workshops at Vasulka Kitchen also aim to act as outreach and expand technology literacy among adults and seniors. As part of our adult programs, we also frequently host a variety of music experimentation sessions led by outside professionals.
