This robotic installation with responsive projection is as much an apparatus of art as it is a tool for music and an instrument of psychology and physics. Tautophone is a reference to the projective “auditory Rorschach” tests developed by psychologists Skinner, Rosenzweig, and Shakow in the 1930s and 1940s, while Curious here refers to the robot's motivation to explore its surroundings and to learn.
It is our pleasure to announce that for Vašulka Kitchen Brno 2025 residency program we selected media artist Cailean Finn.
The decision was certainly not easy and we thank everyone else for their interest and the many excellent projects!
The concert and the opening of the exhibition of audiovisual artist Gijs Gieskes will take place on 7 April together with the launch of Lenka Dolanová’s book A Dialogue with the Demons of the Tools: Stein and Woody Vašulka.

18:00⠀Opening of the exhibition machines with no need of humankind
Hlavním tématem výstavy Gijse Gieskese jsou perma-patche, na kterých průběžně pracuje řadu let. Perma-patch označuje permanentní zapojení elektronických obvodů, zařízení a jejich součástek, které mezi nimi utváří uzavřený okruh. Zapojení vytváří začátek i konec, moment, kdy se něco odehraje. To něco je v případě Gieskesových nástrojů píseň, kterou stroje promlouvají.

Srdečně zveme na výstavu Otevřený digitální archiv & testovací laboratoř pro živé publikum v úterý 12. prosince 2023 od 18 hodin ve Vašulka Kitchen Brno (Dům pánů z Kunštátu). Zahájení je součástí vernisážového dne, ve kterém budou rovněž zahájeny výstavy Brainscape, taktéž v Domě pánů z Kunštátu, a Součty & rozdíly v Domě umění.
