Rouilleux & Fire Like Fire // Alternativa meets Vašulka Kitchen Brno

solo - duo - trio

A unique triple concert initiated by the Alternativa festival, where Cinder, Petr Vrba and Luboš Rezek met for the first time and a more permanent collaboration was established. The concert is also unique because the Alternativa festival is going beyond the borders of Prague for the first time with its concert series.

Working with Vašulka Kitchen Brno archive: methodology, outputs and other possibilities of its development.

Dušan Barok / Barbora Šedivá

The Vasulka Kitchen Brno Archive is dedicated to preserving a unique video library and digital archive of Woody and Steina Vasulka's work. The issues addressed by this archive, as well as archives of electronic art in general, concern the preservation, cataloging, documentation, and access to physical and digital artworks, digital and analog data such as software, websites, installation material, scholarly studies, and also, media, analog technical devices and players, and personal collections. The contribution will introduce the concept of the approach to processing this archive. We will also focus on the role of software in Vasulkas' oeuvre and how it can be mediated in the archival setting.

Recently, he was part of the curatorial team and contributed an essay to the catalog for the traveling exhibition Multiple Realities: Experimental Art in the Eastern Bloc, 1960s-1980s, organized by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.

Barbora Šedivá is a curator and an art manager, the deputy of 4AM/Forum for Architecture and Media and the director of the platform Multiplace.
